Packed Weekend

So we had a busy weekend around here! Yesterday we started off the day with a tour of another public hospital in Piura. It was very different from hospitals at home, but interesting to see how things can be changed when the proper supplies aren't available.

We then had ANOTHER procession for Corpus Christi. It was a lot nicer to take part in than the first one, no pushing this time!! We had some fun jammin' to the music as we processed to another church in Piura.

That's about all for the day yesterday, but we did watch a wedding at church so that was cool! Added some entertainment to our masses all in Spanish.

So today we started off the morning telling us that we had to be ready in 10 minutes to go to a parade, so everyone was rushing to get ready and a little crabby. We went to the parade which was all of the government people and the schools in Piura. They do this every Sunday. There were lots of cute kids all dressed up.

After the parade we went to the mall and had some PIZZA for lunch!! Let me tell you, it's not until you can't have your normal food whenever you want that you realize how much you miss it. Chicken and rice gets boring after awhile, so it was nice to have some pizza. We also got Pink Berry, so we were all happy campers after that.

"Fat Americans!"
We had some time to rest when we got back to the parish and then went to Madre del Redentor, which is an orphanage for girls that come from all over Peru. We spent the afternoon dancing, painting nails, and playing sports with them! They are such loving and friendly girls, from the moment we got off the truck they were pulling us to show us around!
